DESCRIPTION:PFAS is a group of man-made very persistent chemicals that is found widely around in the environment. These days many technologies are promoted to treat PFAS compounds\, but most of them do not address the source zone material. Treating the water will be going on forever as long as source zones keep feeding plumes. \nOther techniques look at fixating the PFAS in the subsurface. But is it possible to remove the source totally and permanently? Krüger has together with Veolia Australia conducted lab studies using thermal desorption and has seen some very promising results in terms of destruction of the PFAS compounds.
